AR in 2020

Happy New year!

Before anything, we would like to wish you all a wonderful New Year. For the beginning of the new decade, we have created the invisible scuplture: an AR 2020 model with its own safe fireworks. The idea was to go around London and place our 2020 and share it. Just a bit of fun really. 😉

Please see some of the picturesat the end of this post.

So, what AR is going to be like for marketing in 2020?

According to Stadista, the augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR) market amounted to a forecast of 18.8 billion U.S. dollars in 2020 and is expected to expand drastically in the coming years.

The global augmented reality market is expected to grow significantly to about 198 billion U.S. dollars by 2025.

AR can combine real life with a super-imposed image or animation using the camera on a mobile device or a special headgear. Augmented reality (AR) technology integrates digital information with the physical environment, live and in real-time through graphics, sounds, 3D objects and others.

AR will continue its growth in industries like engineering, education, and healthcare in 2020.

When it comes to marketing, this technology offers immersive experiences to users and enable people to interact with your products building brand awareness and increasing engagement.

The ability to point a mobile phone camera at an image and get data, either videos, games, virtual objects, more information into a lot more detail about a brand can add a substantial amount of benefit for any business by boosting engagement with the target audience and driving conversion rates.

There are many ways you can use AR and VR technology to tell your audience richer stories. It’s essential to learn about these technologies early on and to incorporate them into your business.

In retail, for example, beauty brands like Estée Lauder, Lancôme, and Sephora have created AR tools that let people try lipsticks and nail polishes virtually. Others like Nespresso offer the possibility of understanding better the product using a virtual model which users can also place it in their own environment. In this way, users can make a better-informed decision before buying a product.

AR is becoming more accessible and affordable and can play a significant role in helping businesses grow.

AR is also very powerful for marketing activities in trade shows. Please read our article:
